Prof. Saliha Paker, Boğaziçi University

Saliha Paker is Professor of Translation Studies and a translator of modern Turkish poetry and fiction, still teaching part-time at Boğaziçi University, Turkey. She is the director of the Cunda International Workshop for Translators of Turkish Literature, which she founded in 2006 under the sponsorship of the Turkish Ministry of Culture to promote the translation of Turkish literature into English and other European languages. Her main research areas include Ottoman/Turkish translation history, Ottoman concepts and practices of translation, and literary-theoretical aspects of translation in the Ottoman period.

Prof. Lieven D’hulst, KU Leuven University

Lieven D’hulst is Professor of Francophone Literature and Translation Studies at KU Leuven, Belgium. He is a member of the editorial board of Target: International Journal of Translation Studies and co-director of a series “Traductologie” at “Artois Presses Université ” (France). He also serves as a member of the Academia Europaea (Cambridge). His research interests cover the relations between translation and transfer, theory and practice of translation historiography, and 19th century European translation policies.

Prof. Outi Paloposki, University of Turku

Outi Paloposki is Professor of English Translation at the University of Turku, Finland, Department of Languages and Translation Studies. She is a member of the editorial boards of Perspectives and Kalbos, Studies about Languages. She also serves as a member of the Peer College for the Martha Cheung Award at the Baker Centre for Translation and Intercultural Studies. Her research interests center on the history of translation, translators’ social networks and working environments, and the cultural, societal and linguistic impact of translation in Finland.

Assoc. Prof. Maria Constanza Guzman, York University

María Constanza Guzmán is an Associate Professor in the School of Translation and the Department of Hispanic Studies at Glendon College, York University, Canada. She is the co-coordinator of the Research Group in Translation and Transcultural Contact (RGTTC) and editor-in-chief of Tusaaji: A Translation Review. Her main scholarly interests are translation studies and Latin American literature, particularly Latin American and Caribbean narratives and contemporary theoretical perspectives drawn from literary and cultural studies. She has published numerous articles and translations, and the books Gregory Rabassa’s Latin American Literature: A Translator´s Visible Legacy (2011) and Mapping Spaces of Translation in Twentieth-Century Latin American Print Culture (2020).

Dr. Ceyda Elgül, Boğaziçi University

Ceyda Elgül  is an instructor of translation at Boğaziçi University Department of Translation and Interpreting Studies. She is the coordinator of the research project “Lives in Turkish”, which presents a database of biographies published in Turkish from the early 1800s onwards. Elgül is the lead-organizer of the series of poetry translation workshops “Island in Translation”. Her research interests include biography, literary translation, Latin American literature, historiography, translation history, and digital humanities.
