Starting February 1st, 2023, our very own Özlem Berk Albachten, Jonathan Ross and Şule Demirkol Ertürk will launch a new bilateral research project with Nike Kocijančič Pokorn, Tamara Mikolič Južnič, Robert Grošelj and Tadej Pahor from the University of Ljubljana on “Local Practices of Translation & Interpreting in a Globalized World”. Demirkol Ertürk and Kocijančič Pokorn will act as coordinators of this two-year project, which will be funded by TÜBİTAK’s Bilateral Joint Cooperation Program with the Slovenian Research Agency ARRS (2508). While Berk Albachten and Demirkol Ertürk will be investigating translation practices at a number of museums in Istanbul and İzmir, Ross will be conducting a case study of professional and non-professional interpreting in public service settings in Beşiktaş district.
